Robert Lee Johnson

Robert “Lee” Johnson 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Lee as everyone knew him was born September 23^rd, 1953, in Wilkes County to the late James C. Johnson and Eva M. Johnson. Lee grew up in Forsyth County and worked at Reynolds Junk Yard for several years. He started a career for NCDOT Traffic Division where he worked for 20 plus years. Later he opened a business known as Lee’s Garage in Rural Hall. He owned and operated his repair shop until a stroke in 2015 that took him away from the love of working on cars. Lee is survived by his daughter Lori Black (Jeremy); son, Robbie Johnson (Sherry); five grandchildren, Nathan Black (Kimmy), Abbi Black (Dakota Warden), Cameron Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, and Alyssa Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Haleigh and Ellie, which is to arrive in July; a sister, Joyce Wilson; two nephews, Stan and Charlie; and niece, Kristie. Family would like to extend their gratitude to special neighbors & friends, Rick and Pat Wright, Benny and Virginia Woffard and Joan.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
