Kernersville – Mr. Robert Kyle Bailey, 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Davidson County to Joseph and Grace Bailey. Robert was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the United States Air Force. He was a potter and enjoyed fishing. Robert was a volunteer Chaplain at Forsyth Hospital for 10 years. He was a faithful member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church where he attended the Adult Fellowship Sunday School class for many years. He was also a Stephen’s Minister and was instrumental in starting the chapter at Morris Chapel. He was also formerly on the board for the Walkertown Fire Department. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Grace “Libby” Bailey Sink. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sylvia East Bailey; his daughter, Amy Beinke (Jeffery); grandchildren, Kyle Beinke (Emily) and Hannah Beinke (Joao); one great grandchild, Zoey Glen Beinke; two brothers, Joe Bailey (Sherry) of Columbus, Ohio and Bill Bailey (Janie) of Lexington, NC; and many special nieces and nephews.
With masks requested, a graveside service for Robert will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Coppley and Samantha Wesley officiating. The family will informally meet with friends following the service in the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church general fund or church fund of the donor’s choice at 2715 Darrow Road, PO Box 57, Walkertown, NC 27051. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
