Mr. Robert Glenn Kidd, 92 died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC. Mr. Kidd was born June 6, 1917 in Guilford County, a son of the late Robert Andrew Kidd and the late Myrtle Rule Kidd. He was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church, in Winston-Salem. He served his country in the US Navy on the USS McKee during WW II. Mr. Kidd retired from Western Electric Company with 33 years of service and also started Kidd Insurance Agency of Winston-Salem in 1958. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in death by his wife, Helen Setzer Kidd, and a son, Ronald D. Kidd. He is survived by his daughter, Glenna Kidd Deem and husband Douglas of Oak Island; four grandchildren; Jeremy Addison and wife Naomi of Winston-Salem, Ashley Pszczultkoski and husband Kyle of Oak Island, Chad Kidd and wife Aimee of Charlotte, Cherie Mercer and husband Brian of Myrtle Beach; eight great-grandchildren and sister, Beulah Harris of Flat Rock. Also surviving is the Harris family who graciously opened their home and their hearts to ""Uncle Glenn"". A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Christ Wesleyan Church with Rev. Joseph Jennings and Rev. David Emory officiating. Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors provided by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice in Flat Rock, NC or to the National MS Society, Eastern NC Chapter, 3101 Industrial Drive, Suite 210 Raleigh, NC 27609.
