Robert ""Gordon"" Hofmann, 85, passed away on February 25, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on January 3, 1930 to Francis William Hofmann and Edna Cecilia Deters Hofmann in Baltimore, MD. There, he attended Mount Saint Joseph High School. Following graduation, Gordon proudly served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He went on to work at Continental Can Company, Stroh's and Belk Department store until his retirement. An active member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Gordon served as choir member, lector, and Eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Vice President of The Vicariate of the Dioceses of Charlotte and past President of the Parish Council. He was a proud member of the Triad Harmony Express and an avid golfer. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cecilia DeVaughn Hofmann a daughter Theresa Hofmann and a great grandchild Tafari. Survivors include his five children, Mary Elizabeth Fahey, Robert Gordon Hofmann, Jr. (Ann Kittredge), David Francis Hofmann, Andrew James Hofmann, and Jean Cecelia Trowbridge (Charles); ten grandchildren including Elizabeth Ann Hofmann; and seven great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with Father Brian Cook officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium.
