Robert William Hicks

Beloved father, Mr. Robert William Hicks, 83, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born in Stokes Co. on May 1, 1928 to the late Will and Flora Hicks. Mr. Hicks proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 31 years of service. Mr. Hicks was married to Evelyn M. Hicks for 44 years and she is the mother of his children. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Hicks is survived by two daughters, Sondra H. Pettus and husband Mickey of Davidson, NC, and Robyn Hicks of Winston-Salem, two sons, Randy Hicks of Pinnacle and Josh Hicks and wife Brandi of Pinnacle. He has nine grandchildren, Robert, Jonathan, Carlon, Landon, Katelyn, Jared, Will, McKenna and Hunter. Mr. Hicks is also survived by two brothers, Homer Hicks of Pinnacle and Bud Hicks of King. A graveside service with Military Rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family would like to thank the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the care their father received.
