Robert Graham Melton, 69, passed away on March 29, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. Robert was born on November 8, 1954, to Thomas Cleveland Melton, Jr. and Forrest Smith Melton in Winston-Salem. He was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Robert retired from Windstream after a successful 47-year career as an engineer in the telecommunications industry. During his younger years, Robert shared his leadership skills with the business community, serving as President of the local Jaycees. He was active in the classic car community, buying and selling, and attending shows far and wide. Among his collection was a treasured 1961 Chevrolet truck. Robert will be remembered for his great heart, generosity, and humble spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his loving wife, Jennie Melton; stepson, Rob Jaworski (Danielle) and their children, Zoe, Sasha, Fiona, and Kyra; stepdaughter, Courtney Gruver (Michael) and their children, Sarah and Jake; a brother, James Melton (Rosa); nephew, Wesley; and niece, Heather. A funeral mass will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, on Friday, April 5, 2024. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
