Robert David Gatewood

KERNERSVILLE - Robert David Gatewood, 62, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Robert was born on February 23, 1953 in Danville, VA to the late Walter and Alice Dalton Gatewood. Robert was a member of Triad Baptist Church and was a motorcycle enthusiast! He had a heart for helping others, especially as needs arose with unforeseen expenses in people's lives. Robert also shared this interest with financial needs of Piedmont Bible College. He was well loved by all who knew him and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Gatewood; a son, Jonathan Gatewood (Amanda), a daughter, Kari Hollifield (Jason); five grandchildren, Payton, Layla and Mady Gatewood, Ethan and Savanna Hollifield; and two sisters, Betty Martin (JC) and JoAnne Justis (Bill). A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Triad Baptist Church.
