Robert "Bob" Eugene Gallimore, 87, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 20, 1930 in Wytheville, VA., the son of Guy and Hazel Gallimore. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he ushered for many years and a member of Teamsters Local 391. A gentle quiet man, Bob was devoted to his family and enjoyed woodworking as his hobby. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Gallimore; a daughter, Connie Ellender; a brother, Guy and a sister, Betty. Survivors include a brother, Herb Gallimore (Aileen) of Wytheville, VA; a sister Frances Thorpe (Robert) of Charles City, VA.; a son-in-law, David Ellender of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Michael Ellender (Kate) of Winston-Salem; a great grandson, Dylan Ellender of Winston-Salem and a special friend, Christine Park. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Justin Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
