Robert Emmons

Mr. Robert Russell Emmons, 79, of Winston-Salem, NC and formerly of Morris County, NJ, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 4, 1938 in Morris County, NJ, the son of the late, Jesse and Madeline Gertrude Cruts Emmons. Mr. Emmons retired from the Morris County Shade Tree Commission with 26 years of service. He was a member of Schooley's Volunteer Fire Departmant in Morris County for 30 years and Griffith Volunteer Fire Department in Winston-Salem for 9 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Campbell Emmons. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Sternecker and husband, Brian; one son, William Emmons; two grandchildren, Jennifer Sternecker and Christopher Sternecker; one great granddaughter, Kelsey Sternecker; one sister, Shirley McKay; and multiple nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem. Donations may be made to Kate B.
