Robert Edward Crutchfield, Sr.

LEXINGTON-- Mr. Robert Edward Crutchfield, Sr., 69, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at his home. Robert was born on December 22, 1943 in Forsyth County to the late Dace Everett and Mary Musten Crutchfield. He was co-owner of Musten & Crutchfield, Inc. in Kernersville and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Robert was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lexington and Gideons International - Davidson North Camp. He also volunteered as a coach for Kernersville Little League for over 21 years. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Moore Crutchfield, of the home; two sons, Robert E. Crutchfield, Jr. (wife, Maria Guenette) of Texas and John E. Crutchfield (wife, Jeanna) of Kernersville; six grandchildren, John Tucker Crutchfield, Karina Johnson, Ashley Tidwell, Stephanie Manthei, Lindsey Hagood, and Molly Smith; two brothers, Everett and Richard Crutchfield (wife, Bonnie); one stepson, Chris Welborn and three step grandchildren, Randall Scott Welborn , Tyler Clark Welborn, and Jessica Danielle Welborn; and six great stepgrandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Union Grove Baptist Church of Lexington with Rev. Ken Harris and Rev. T. W. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 14, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
