Robert Daniel Clodfelter

Robert Daniel (Danny) Clodfelter, 76, was called home unexpectedly on June 7, The Year of Our Lord 2015. A native of Winston-Salem, he was born on September 19, 1938 to the late Roland Daniel Clodfelter and Dorothy Adams Clodfelter. He was a 1957 graduate of Northwest High School. He worked for R.J. Reynolds for a number of years and retired from N.C.Baptist Hospital after 23 years as an engineering supervisor. After retirement, he worked for L.A. Reynolds and, most recently, at Clemmons FirstBaptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 30 years, Patricia (Trish) Burke Clodfelter. He is survived by his son, David Lee Clodfelter of East Bend, one step-son, Dr. Kenneth Darryl Whitaker (Angela) of Winston-Salem; two step-daughters, Malinda Powers Alderman (John) of Nottingham, PA and Casey Powers Sloan of Advance; five step-grandchildren: Connor, Andrew and Leslie Alderman; D. Austin Sloan; and Alexander Whitaker; a brother, Joseph Riley Clodfelter and sister, Gail Clodfelter Burton of Winston-Salem; one niece, Ellen Walker (Johnny) of Walkertown, and a special friend, Eugenia (""Genie"") Livengood of Winston-Salem.

Visitation will be at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel from 6-8pm on Friday, June 12th. A memorial service, celebrating his life, will be held at Clemmons First Baptist Church at 11am on Saturday, June 13th with Rev. Dr. Robert Phillips and Rev. Dr. Suzanne Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.

Danny was a ""people person"" and never met a stranger. He enjoyed being ""Mr. Fix-it"" at his church and cherished the Day Care children calling him ""Mr. Danny"". He was always athletic and enjoyed all sports. He loved his family, his friends, and his church but, most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC27103. On-line condolences may be sent to www.hayworth-miller.com.
