Robert Thomas Burns

Mr. Robert Thomas Burns, 83, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 2, 1928 in Utica, NY to Robert and Elizabeth England Burns. Mr. Burns was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia and a daughter, Joanne Burns Poelker. Surviving is a son, Mike Burns and wife Susie of Wentworth; two daughters, Terri Cornelius and husband David of East Bend and Pat Koontz and husband Chris of Clemmons; five grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Patrick, Alex and Robert and three great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B.
