Robert Vernon Brookshire

Mr. Robert Vernon Brookshire, 82, of Lewisville passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 19, 1926 in Forsyth County to Joel Benjamin and Allie Davis Brookshire. Mr. Brookshire was a member of Advance First Baptist Church. He was retired from Piedmont Airlines with 33 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He loved fishing and loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, J.B. Brookshire. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Peggy Walker Brookshire; two daughters, Mary Sue Brookshire and husband Mark LeMay of La Mesa, California, and Becky Brookshire Davis and husband Eric of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Peyton and Riley Davis, Hannah and Isaac LeMay; two sisters, Annie Sue Russell and husband Ritchie of Winston-Salem, and Maxine Davis of Pfafftown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. David Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
