Robert Harding Boyles

KERNERSVILLE - Robert Harding Boyles, 91, a lifelong farmer, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home. He was born October 24, 1921 in Stokes Co. to the late Robert G. and Pearl Shelton Boyles. Harding was a member of Parkview Primitive Baptist. He enjoyed singing with his group from church and traveling to many churches to sing at funerals. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis, Lester, Tom, and Joe Boyles; and sister, Nina Parker. Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Treva Holman Boyles of the home; son, Wayne Boyles and wife, Kathryn; daughter, Ophelia B. Jackson all of Kernersville; grandchildren, Larry Boyles, Lisa Willard and husband, Scott, Donna Rice and husband, Mark all of Kernersville, and Travis Boyles and wife, Ashley of Bumpass, VA; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, May 27, 2013 at Parkview Primitive Baptist Church with Elder E.W. Hooven officiating. A family committal service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Parkview Primitive Baptist Church, 3209 Ridgewood Road, Winston Salem, NC 27107.
