KERNERSVILLE- Robert Hilton Boyce, 84, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 19, 1926 in Chowan Co. to the late Dewey and Beulah Boyce. Major Boyce graduated from the Salvation Army School for Officer Training in Atlanta, GA. He retired as a Salvation Army Minister after 48 years, 6 months, and 2 days of service. Surviving are his wife, Doris Burchett Boyce of the home; daughter, Mary Boyce Johnson and husband, Denis of Kernersville; son, James Robert Boyce and wife, Joyce of Meadows of Dan, VA; and one granddaughter, Tara Boyce Burlage, Outer Banks, NC. A ""Celebration of Life"" Service will be conducted at The Salvation Army Greensboro Corps on 821 S. Aycock St. at 11:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2011. A Graveside ""Open Air Meeting"" will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Friends and family will gather back at The Salvation Army Corps following the Graveside Service. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters, Specified: Salvation Army NC & SC Retired Officers, PO Box 241808, Charlotte, NC 28224.
