Robert Gene Barnshock

Mr. Robert Gene Barnshock, 77, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home. He was born August 11, 1939 in Ohio to the late Besty Mae Dalton Barnshock and Bernard Joseph Barnshock. Mr. Barnshock proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from R.J. Reynolds with 28 years of service. Mr. Barnshock was of the Baptist Faith. He loved the Outer Banks and Saltwater fishing. He enjoyed reading and playing pool. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barnshock was preceded in death by his wife Florina June Owens Barnshock. He is survived by four daughters: Robin Shelton (Marcus), Debbie Absher (Jim), Irene Barnshock, and Yvonne Burcham; twelve grandchildren: Crystal, Cindy, Jimmy, Dwayne, Karl Jr., Sean, Tabitha, Lacy, Mark Jr., Josh, Jason, and Jeremy; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, April 13, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Randy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Walkertown First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 12, at the funeral home.
