Robah "Walt" Walter Frye

Mr. Robah Walter Frye, Jr., “Walt”, loving husband, father, Paw Paw and brother, of 2151 Hickory Tree Road, passed away peacefully in his home on April 18, 2023.

To many he was a coach, teacher, mentor, golfing buddy and friend, but our family had the honor of calling him Daddy. His priorities were the Lord first then family, while serving others along the way.

Walt was born on January 25, 1951 in Randolph County to the late Rick and Helen Ruth Frye.  He was a “jack of all trades” as he was everyone’s handyman and had an unmatched work ethic. He loved eating peanuts on the beach, oldies music, watching sports, playing golf and anything to do with his seven grandchildren. Walt retired from education after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Neal. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Pam Ketchie Frye; daughter, Amy Frye Stewart with her three children, Ansley, Reagan and Palmer; son, Nick Frye and wife Elizabeth with their children, Jack and Max; daughter, Kelly Frye Davis and husband Trevor with their children Nolan and Landri; and siblings, Rickey, Mark and Angel Frye.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Pinedale Christian Church, 3395 Peters Creek Parkway Winston Salem, NC, 27127, with Pastor Matthew Sink and Pastor Danny Spainhour officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103 or American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org.

A special thanks to Dr. Michael McCormack and the nurses of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
