Rita Sue Taylor Lee

Mrs. Rita Taylor Lee, 75, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on June 25, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Bluefield, WV, on July 1, 1948, to the late Mr. Bill Taylor and Mrs. Elsie Taylor Peraldo. Mrs. Lee attended Bowman Gray School of Radiology and graduated with her degree in Radiology Technology, she went on to work at Wake Forest Baptist Health as an X-Ray technologist for 37 years. She married the love of her life, Dr. Tim Lee, on December 23, 1988. Together, they lived a life of love and laughter for 35 years. In her free time, Rita enjoyed cooking and taking walks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Adam Shelton; a sister, Diane Gleichauf; two aunts, Sylvia Burton and Ruth Snow; stepfather, Ernie Peraldo; and her grandparents, Mattie and Oscar Bruce. To carry on her legacy of love, she is survived by her soulmate, Dr. Tim Lee; a daughter-in-law, Lori Shelton; two granddaughters, Marion and Megan Shelton; and two cousins, Terry and Rhonda Rose. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Craig Ford officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Mrs. Lee may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the Lee family.
