Rita Curley

Rita Ann Curley, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at her residence. She was born on September 6, 1949, to the late Coy Ray Johnson Jr. and Eula Gray Shutt Johnson in Forsyth County. Rita was a kind soul who loved her family close to her heart, especially her dogs. She enjoyed shopping and going out to get her nails done. You could often find her watching racing at Bowman Gray. Rita will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Templeton, and special friend, Jesse Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Scott Curley (Angie); four grandchildren, Brittany Griffin (Tyler), Stephanie Sanfilippo (Michael), Jacob Curley, and Gage Williams; three great-grandchildren, Asher Griffin, Levi Sanfilippo, and Jackson Sanfilippo; Son-in-law Tony Templeton; and special family friend Amelia Summers.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Novant Health Cancer Institute at 1010 Bethesda Ct, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
