Ricky Pyrtle

Mr. Ricky Lee Pyrtle, 57, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Ricky's life story began on July 21, 1960 in the once sleepy little town of Kernersville, NC on a presumably warm day by Maxine Blackburn Pyrtle and Glenn William Pyrtle. Sr. However, Ricky's story was shortened on February 12 , 2018. Ricky was known for tinkering with either his tools or land; a man who enjoyed being outdoors. A tireless worker known by many. He prided himself on his accomplishments. A man who adored his grandchildren and endlessly tried to teach them many things, before his death. Ricky was one who relished in working to solve problems. Unfortunately, he was presented with a problem he could not solve in the diagnosis of lung cancer. He fought hard to overcome his battle, however the strength of a river he held inside, was reduced to a brook. Sadly, the disease overtook all of the once strong man. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Noah and Mary Eaton. Ricky is survived by his wife of 35+ years Carol Eaton Pyrtle of the home, his only child, Amanda Pyrtle Lane, his beloved grandbabies, Meghan and Madison Lane, his siblings, Debbie Fulton (Glenn) Belews Creek, NC, Diane Howard, Pine Hall, NC, Glenn Pyrtle, Jr. (Beth) Kernersville, NC, Martha Smith, Kernersville, NC, Christine Eckey (Robert), Fort Myers, FL, brother in-laws, Charles Eaton (Trudy) Charlotte, NC and John Eaton (Sandi) Cocoa Beach, FL. The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the wonderful staff at the Novant Oncology facility in Kernersville, NC for their tenacity to help care for Ricky during his illness. The staff showed a multitude of kindness and sunshine that was shared so unselfishly. There will be no service as Ricky was not one for ceremonies; however, those who feel compelled to do something in Ricky's memory may do so by contributing to a children's cancer program or resolve to show kindness to your fellow mankind.
