Mr. Richard LuRay Windsor, 61, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born July 31, 1947 in Forsyth County to the late Homer LuRay and Ruth Arrington Windsor. Mr. Windsor was the proud owner of Windsor's Appliance Service, Inc. for 29 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed playing golf. He loved to spend time with his family and was a very loving husband and father. Preceding him in death were his parents and a special dog, ""Louie."" Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Gail Windsor; three children, Bryan Windsor and wife Robyn of Advance, Scott Windsor of Charleston, SC and Shannon Windsor of Advance; two sisters, Diane Messick and husband Dale of Advance and Linda Sue Pepper and husband Jim of Winston-Salem; mother-in-law, Jean Dzeskewicz of Winston-Salem; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would to express a special thanks to the Doctors, nurses, and other staff at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the care and support they gave to Mr. Windsor and his family.
