Richard LaRue Riddle

WINSTON-SALEM-Mr. Richard ""Dick"" LaRue Riddle, 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Riddle was born on August 1, 1930 in Asheville, NC to Luke Riddle and Lenna Adams Riddle. He served in both the United States Army and United States Navy. Following his service to his country, Mr. Riddle went to work at Western Electric where he spent his entire career. Richard was a lifetime member and senior member of I.E.E.E.. He served as Chairman of the Winston-Salem section of I.E.E.E. and was also the Region 3 Director. Richard belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Winston-Salem. Richard was of the Baptist faith and known as ""Bear"" by his close friends. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, James Riddle. Mr. Riddle is survived by his wife, Juanita H. Riddle of Winston-Salem; son, Richard Marvin Riddle and wife, Mary of Winston-Salem; daughter, Donna Sue Riddle of Winston-Salem; and grandson, Garrett Cole Riddle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
