Richard Vernon Paynter

Mr. Richard ""Bunny"" Vernon Paynter, 90, of Clemmons, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015.

Richard was born December 11, 1924 in Roanoke, VA. He graduated R.J. Reynolds High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was also a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Coleman Paynter and son, Richard Michael Paynter.

Richard is survived by Betty Stroud of the home; daughter-in-law, Shirley Paynter of Virginia Beach; granddaughters, Ashley Paynter of Richmond and Elizabeth Paynter of Los Angeles, CA; 1 niece, 2 nephews, and 2 sisters-in-law.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
