Richard "Rick" W. Odom

Mr. Richard ""Rick"" William Odom, 63, of Clemmons, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Rick was born September 26, 1951 in Ashe County to William and Lola Miller Odom. He attended Mitchell College and served in the US Navy, where he served on the aircraft carrier USS America for four years in the Vietnam War. After his military time, he worked for ITT before moving to the Bombardier Capital Group, where he worked for over 20 years. He retired in 2005 and became a realtor. On July 6, 1996 in Georgia, VT, Rick married the love of his life, Angela. In his free time, Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid race fan. He also loved to fish and enjoyed many trips to the Outer Banks. With his outgoing personality, he never met a stranger. Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.

Rick is survived by his wife, Angela Perry Odom of the home; mother, Lola Edith Odom of Clemmons; daughters, Rachel Odom Novella and husband Eric of Altamonte Springs, FL, Jessa Odom Pauline and husband Clint of Waterloo, IL, Carla Viana Johnson and husband Seth of Mansfield, MA; grandchildren, Sadie Johnson, Peyten Pauline, Daniel Pauline; sister, Tresa Odom Beeker of Clemmons; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and William Swartz, Keith Perry, and Tom and Kim Perry; nieces and nephews, Julianna, Isabella, Cori, Kevin, and Nolan; and many friends, family, and loved ones across the country.

A celebration of Rick's life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2:30 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:30 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Foster-Mash Family Cemetery, 1136 Cox Road, Jefferson, NC 28640.
