Richard Eugene Mabe

COLFAX-Richard Eugene Mabe, 63, died December 11, 2010, at Duke University Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1947, in Forsyth County to the late Marvin Edward and Mary Washington Bowman Mabe. Richard retired from the City of Greensboro and loved to farm. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy B. Mabe, and a brother, William Howard Mabe. Survivors include his two daughters, Andrea Purgason and Renee Gueye (Cheikh) both of Colfax; two grandchildren, Krista and Miranda Purgason; three brothers, Floyd and Clifford Mabe, both of Kernersville, and Johnny Mabe, of Oak Ridge; and one sister Betty M. Byrd, of Supply. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the family cemetery, 8650 Bull Road, Colfax, NC, with Rev. Jack Oaks officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, December 13, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
