Richard Boyles Lynch

WALKERTOWN- Richard Boyles Lynch, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his home. He was born October 8, 1933 in Stokes Co. to the late Albert Vance and Lois Boyles Lynch.

In 1953 he married Jean Blair and pursued a successful career for the next 30 years as a diesel mechanic for Pilot Freight Carriers, Inc. Upon his retirement, Richard spent many enjoyable hours working on his farm as well as building and repairing things around the home. Richard was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and attended as long as his health permitted.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lynch; and sister, Margie Smith.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jean Blair Lynch; son, Richard Vance Lynch; three daughters, Janet Blakely (Kevin), Wanda Jo Bowman (Mark), Sandra Lynch; five grandchildren, Seth Bowman, Micah Bowman, Elizabeth B. McBride (Justin), Stacey Lynch, Janell Lynch; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Chloe Bowman.

A Funeral Service to honor Richard's memory will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Hospice and Palliative CareCenter 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103 or Gospel Light Baptist Church PO Box 38, Walkertown, NC 27051.
