Mr. Richard ""Rick"" Jarvis, 62, of Clemmons, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23, 2013, after an 18 year long battle with cancer. He retired from the City of Winston-Salem with 24 years of service. Rick loved golf, gardening, and spending time with his dog Baxter. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and resilience. Rick is survived by his wife, Robin Jarvis; a daughter, Amy Jarvis Hargette and husband Mike; a son, Brian Jarvis; a grandson, Maddox Lenderman; his parents; mother-in-law, Evelyn Oakley and a sister, Myra Reed and husband Michael. Rick was a dearly loved husband, father, son and brother, and a cherished friend of many. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Jim Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
