Mr. Richard Juan Hall, 78, of Winston-Salem, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 2, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Hall was born July 21, 1937 in Forsyth Co. to the late Juan Moses and Margaret Mann Hall. He was a long-standing member of Woodland Baptist Church, joining in 1954, and a faithful member of the Watchmen's Bible Class as long as his health permitted. Throughout his life, he served in many capacities of the church including Adult Department Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher and Deacon. He went to work at R.J. Reynolds in 1955 after graduating from Mineral Springs High School and continued his education at local learning institutions involved with his work. He retired from R.J. Reynolds in 1991 with 35 ½ years of service in the Engineering Dept. Mr. Hall served in the U.S Marine Corp Reserves for 8 years where he was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He was skilled in wood-working, making a special gift for each grandchild on their first Christmas. In 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Janie Sue Rhodes, who he lovingly referred to as his ""wheetie pie"". They were best friends from the beginning to the very end. Richard was a wonderful provider, Daddy, Pap-paw, Great-Grandpa and brother. His love and devotion to his wife and family serves as a godly example for all. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Moriah. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janie, two sons; R. Gregory Hall (Renée) and Mitchell J. Hall (Judy), nine grandchildren; Ryan Hall(Carla), Stacey Hall, Caleb Hall (Emily), Austin Hall (fiancé Olivia), Candi Moser (Jeffrey), Cpl. Cameron Hall, USMC, Cary Hall (Kirby), Micah Hall and Micayla Hall, seven great-grandchildren; Landon Hall, Mady Hall, Payton Hall, Gavin Hall, Weston Hall, Noelle Hall and one on the way, one brother; Walter Hall (Kathy) , a sister-in-law; Dorothy Dezarn and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 Monday evening, October 5, 2015 at Woodland Baptist Church. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care, Winston-Salem Senior Services (Pam Noah & Gretchen Fink). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund.
