Richard Dick Eugene Grubbs

GRUBBS - Winston-Salem Mr. Richard ""Dick"" Eugene Grubbs Sr. passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 24, 2009. He was born October 18, 1929 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Wade Bynum Grubbs and Annie Grubbs. Mr. Grubbs retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1989. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Grubbs was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Grubbs; two brothers; and one sister. Surviving are his son, Richard E. ""Dickie"" Grubbs Jr. and wife, Sharon of East Bend; one granddaughter, Brooke G. Forrest and husband, Seth of Yadkinville; one grandson, Brandon Chunn of East Bend; one great-grandson, Keaton Forrest; three brothers-in-law, Jim Walker, Adam and Richard Casper; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Fulp and Beulah Hicks; also several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 27 at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel in Walkertown with Pastor Bryant Madren officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Richmond Evangelical Methodist Church, 6151 Tobaccoville Road, Tobaccoville, NC 27050.
