Richard Allen "Dick" Griffin

Richard Allen ""Dick"" Griffin, 79, passed away August 17, 2015 at home after several years of declining health. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Forsyth Memorial Park. Dick served as an Elder at South Fork Church of Christ for many years and as President of his local Steel Workers Union prior to his retirement from Rexam. He was previously employed with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Dick was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife Montine. He is survived by his loving wife Montine Young Griffin of the home. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this September 3rd. He is also survived by his daughters, Velda Nelson and husband Lee, Paige Kuzelka and husband William, and Lane Griffin; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Waddell and husband Matt, Ricky Nelson, Travis Poplin, Nick Poplin, Tyler Fantin and wife Vanessa, Tara Kuzelka and Tori Kuzelka; a great-grandson, Caden Waddell; two sisters, Mildred Craige and Linda Carlyle.
