WALKERTOWN- Richard Elwood Fulp, 70, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Richard was born on October 21, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Ernest Woodrow and Nannie Bynum Fulp. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 37 years of service and perfect attendance. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Jean Kiger Fulp, of the home; one daughter, Deborah Fulp Poindexter (husband, Jesse) of Walkertown; two grandchildren, Angelique' Sheets (husband, Derek) of Walkertown, and Christopher Richard Neal; two great-grandchildren, Allie and Justin Sheets; and four brothers. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Northside Baptist Church with the Reverend Darrell Fulp officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 pm on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the church. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
