Mr. Richard Carl ""Dutch"" Fritchman, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born July 25, 1922 in Allentown, PA to Herbert Alvin and Stella Schmoyer Fritchman. Mr. Fritchman was the last surviving of seven children. He worked 33 years for the V.A. and volunteered 33 years at Baptist Hospital. He was married to Sankie Callahan Fritchman on March 9, 1946. He called square dances for the recreation department, and was a member of Hillcrest and Wilshire Golf Clubs. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League and Retired Service Volunteer Program. He traveled extensively through the U.S. and Europe. He was an outstanding father and husband, had a wonderful sense of humor, and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Sankie Callahan Fritchman of the home; two daughters, Barbara Fritchman Thompson (Robert), and Frances Ann Johnson (Al), all of Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Christa Warise and the Rev. Wayne Linville officiating.
