Richard Hobson Creech, Jr.

CREECH CLEMMONS - Mr. Richard Hobson Creech, Jr., 73, of Clemmons, went to be with the Lord Thursday evening, June 10, 2010 after suffering a long illness. Mr. Creech was born on November 9, 1936 in Raleigh to Richard Hobson Creech, Sr. and Alma Jenkins Creech. He graduated from Oak Ridge Military Academy in 1955 and attended Atlantic Christian College, and then served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 30 years of service. During retirement, he worked several years for Multi-Level Services of Walkertown. He enjoyed trains and the outdoors, especially the water. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Kermie M. Creech; two sons, Richard H. Creech, III and Kermit E. Creech and wife Michelle S. Creech; two daughters, Valerie C. Ryan and husband Mike Ryan, Deanna C. Williams and husband Jeff M. Williams; and six grandchildren, Gregory Creech and wife Cindy, Lauren Creech, Sarah Ramsey, Christian Williams, Grayson Williams, and Ashlyn Creech. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13 at Parklawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Sparks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank Dr. John Card and his nursing staff as well as all the Winston-Salem Health Care staff for the special care over the years.II Timothy 4:7:I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
