Richard Bidwell Carmichael

Mr. Richard B. Carmichael, 71, of Pfafftown lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, August 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 24, 1943 in Forsyth County to Robert Calvin and Florence Bidwell Carmichael. Richard served 6 years in the Army National Guard and was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 35 years of service. He is survived by his wife Sandra; 6 children, Rick, Robin, Ryan, Georgia, Paula and Christine; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert C. Carmichael, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice for their compassionate and loving care to Richard and his family during this difficult time and also for the support from extended family and close friends. .
