Richard Edgar "Ed" Blizard

Mr. Richard Edgar ""Ed"" Blizard, 88, died on February 27, 2017 at Carillon Assisted Living Home. Ed was born on March 21, 1928, in Forsyth County to Everette Ernest Blizard, Sr. and Minnie Louise Cale Blizard. He raced at Bowman Gray in the early 50's and was a WWII Navy veteran. He was the President of Parking Products Inc. and enjoyed visiting the Tanglewood Dog Park and The Prayer Garden at Trinity Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Faye Blizard, three brothers and five sisters. Surviving are four daughters, Deborah Gaye McHone (husband Frank) of Winston-Salem, Ronda Lynn McBride (husband Alex) of Winston-Salem, Carolyn Sue O'Neill (husband Robert) of Winston-Salem, and Virginia ""Ginger"" Marie Blizard of California; special friend, Mary Catherine Bones of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends at the home of Carolyn O'Neill, 220 Silkwind Ct. Clemmons, NC 27012. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
