Rhumell Mounce Harrell

SUMMERFIELD - Janie Rhumell ""Grandmommie"" Mounce Harrell, 86, went to be with her Jesus Thursday November 19, 2015. She was born February 5, 1929 in Guilford Co., to the late Peter Paul and Edna Lloyd Mounce. Grandmommie was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church for over 67 years having served in many capacities in the church. She retired from Sears after 35 years of service. Grandmommie had a ""Green Thumb"" she loved gardening and her flowers; she was an exceptional cook and enjoyed feeding anyone who sat down at her table. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Oak Ridge. Grandmommie traveled and camped all over the United States and had a campsite for 26 years at Briarcliff at Myrtle Beach. Grandmommie loved life and never met a stranger! In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Raeford and Rufus Lloyd ""Bud"" Mounce.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 69 years, Ollie Thomas Harrell of the home; a son, Michael Thomas Harrell and wife, Kay of Oak Ridge; granddaughter, Tammy H. Shearer and husband, Curt and their children, Brandon and Cassidy of Summerfield; grandsons, Criss Thomas Harrell and wife, Lindsay and their children, Chad, Chase, and Caleb of Stokesdale, Scott Stewart Harrell and Hailey Ayers and daughter, Amelia of Summerfield; two sisters, Barbara Ann Hedrick and Mary Sue Atkins both of Summerfield; and her two faithful canine companions, Pete & Polly. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Northwest Baptist Church in Greensboro with Rev. Rick Hamann and Rev. Rayton Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
