On Monday, May 21, 2012, after a valiant 8 month struggle with cancer Rhonda Lillian Robertson, age 43, was embraced into the arms of Jesus as she arrived in Heaven. Rhonda was the precious loving daughter of Ronald and Judy Robertson of Winston-Salem. Rhonda will be remembered by all who met her for her ever present smile and sweet spirit. She dearly loved her Green Meadows Baptist church family and serving her Lord as a teacher with the GA Girls and the kindergarten and first grade Sunday School Classes. Rhonda especially enjoyed the many trips with the GA girls to Camp Caraway. Along with her many other activities at church singing in the Celebration Choir was one she cherished. Her friends in the National Saturn Sky Club were dear and close to her heart. She loved the many road trips and fellowship with everyone in the Club. You could always pick Rhonda's Saturn out of the Sky group by her special tag name ""NLESS SKY"". Her favorite trip was to the Dragon's Tail. Rhonda was an honor graduate of Lenoir- Rhyne University and a member of ZETA. During her junior year, Rhonda was a student at The University of Marburg in Germany. Rhonda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joe Brownie and Thelma Robertson and her maternal grandparents, George P. and Alma (Pat) Sweat. Surviving are her parents; a brother, Ronald Eugene Robertson, Jr. and wife Cathy; two nephews, Jack and Jeb Robertson; two uncles, Jerry W. Robertson and George L. Sweat and wife Lenna; one aunt, Janet Boger and husband Barney and a host of special cousins. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24,2012 at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Greene and Pastor Michael Waters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
