Rheta Stephens Wester

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Rheta Stephens Wester, 78, of Kernersville, went home to be with her Lord on October 1, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital. Rheta was born on February 24, 1934 in Guilford County to the late Allen and Maggie Stephens. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife and mother. Rheta always thought of others first, and this was evident in her humble, Christ-like spirit. She was a lifelong member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she faithfully served for many years with Preschoolers, G.A.s and the Homebound Ministries. In addition to her parents, Rheta was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Myers. Surviving are her husband, Thurman Wester of Kernersville; her daughters, Patti Wilson (Dean) of Greensboro and Mary Wester of Kernersville; a brother, Paul Stephens of Kernersville; a sister, Peggy Conrad (Hillus) of Kernersville; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship building, The Arbor. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
