Rev. Lester A. Wolf, a gifted communicator of The Good News, a person who decreased so Christ may increase, a caring friend and pastor, devoted husband, father and grandfather, entered his Heavenly Home on July 1, 2010. He was born July 22, 1917 in Belleville, IL and attended Concordia Seminary. He served four congregations, the last two, serving St. Stephens (Hickory 1955-1973) and St. John's in Winston-Salem (1973-1982). Surviving is his wife Thelma and six children, Debbie Wolf, Jan Plott, David and wife Sheila, Becky Kirby, Kim Houston and husband, Leonard, Cyndie Anderson and husband Rod; seven grandchildren, Kate Kirby, Ashley Wolf, Aaron, Emily and Josh Plott, Zach Houston and Jordan Anderson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Philip McLain officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2415 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
