Rev. Blaine Leslie Possinger, Sr.

Rev. Blaine L. Possinger, Sr. went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 9, 2008. He was born December 2, 1921 in Stroudsburg, PA. to the late George F. and Emma E. Dyson Possinger. Mr. Possinger was a minister/pastor for 40 years in the triad area. While serviving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he met and married the late Helen M. Adams. They were married for more than 61 years until her death in 2004. Surviving are their two sons, Blaine ""Les"" Possinger, Jr. and wife Janet of Rural Hall and Jim Possinger of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Brian Possinger and wife Melissa, Caitlin Possinger and Rachel Possinger. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:30 PM Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Winston-Salem by Rev. William Holt and Rev. Billy Norris. A private entombment will be Tuesday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane. Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
