Rev. Doss Hassell Nelson

NELSON - WALNUT COVE Rev. Doss Hassell Nelson slipped into the arms of Jesus whom he loved so much on Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was born in Forsyth County on May 7, 1933 to the late Grover Nelson and Stacy Abbott Nelson. Rev. Nelson was employed by Hennis Freight Lines for 29 years. He served his Lord and Savior with his sermons and songs at WKTE radio and numerous churches. In addition to his parents, Rev. Nelson was preceded in death by sister, Ernestine ""Teenie""; and his baby daughter, Sherry Ann. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Annie Laura Heath Nelson; three sons, Gary (Cathy), Eddie (Mistie), Rick (Kathy); six grandchildren, Tonya (Dale), Stacy (Phillip), Misty (Kenny), Lee (Abby), Michael (Tricia) and Summer; eleven great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; two brothers, Bud (Ruth) and Arnold (Ann); and also his sister, Hazel. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Walnut Cove with Pastor Tim Nelson, Pastor Garland Glascoe and Rev. Gray Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 p.m. and there will also be a reception following the burial.
