Rev. Boyce Leroy Humphrey

KERNERSVILLE-Rev. Boyce Leroy Humphrey, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 02, 1930 in Seminole Co., OK to the late James Ephraim and Geneva Irene Holderman Humphrey. Rev. Humphrey was a member of Southside Baptist Church and volunteered with Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministries. He retired from Western Electric after many years of service. Rev. Humphrey's passion was his music ministry while serving many churches. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Chappell Humphrey; and three sisters. Surviving are his wife, Honey Noah Humphrey of the home; one son, Keith Humphrey and wife Margaret of Stillwater, OK; two daughters, Nadine Humphrey Atkins of High Point, and Annette Humphrey Marshall and husband Dennis of Garland, TX; one step-son, Joseph Anthony Noah and wife Jenny of Germanton; two step-daughters, Tonya Noah Jenkins and Angela Noah Anderson both of Clemmons; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Henry Humphrey of Telequa, OK, and James Garland Humphrey of Billingham, WA; and his loving companion that brought many smiles, Buster. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, January 25, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Brian King and Rev. Jim Clodfelter officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the funeral home.
