Rev. John 'Dean' Hamilton

Rev. John Dean Hamilton, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away June 12, 2013. He was born February 26, 1925 to Jim and Bess Hamilton at Clebit, Oklahoma. He served in the European Theatre during WWII with the Army 665th Field Artillery Battalion. He married his life-long sweetheart, Louise Cheek, July 5, 1946 in DeQueen, Arkansas. He attended and graduated from Southwestern Bible College, Waxahachie, TX with a BS Ministerial Degree, May 27, 1949. He pastored over 50 years in Oklahoma, Arkansas and North Carolina, as an ordained Assemblies of God Minister. He enjoyed reading the funny papers, hot baths with his Reader's Digest, singing while he worked and loved telling jokes. Surviving is his wife Louise Hamilton of Winston-Salem, son, Don Hamilton of Solgohachia, Arkansas, a daughter, Debbie Wagner of Winston-Salem, son, Mark (Tiffany) Hamilton of Madison, NC, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm followed by a Celebration of His Life at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park, Peter's Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, donation's, may be made to the Tad and Elizabeth Williams Adult Day Care Center and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller. com
