Rev. Charles “Charlie” Edward McFrederick, 81, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  Charlie was born in Medina County, Ohio on June 30, 1942, to the late John McFrederick and Neva Vonda Weber McFrederick. Growing up in Ohio Charlie developed a deep love for The Ohio State Buckeyes and was an avid fan his entire life.  Charlie served as associate pastor for several churches in the Winston-Salem area but will be remembered most as a family man and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Knight McFrederick; children, Karl Edward McFrederick, Mark Allen McFrederick, and Christina Lynn James; one sister, Marianne Buckland; and son-in-law, Ronnie Smith.  He is survived by his children, Senya Grubbs, Sabrina Smith (Keith), Heather Smith, Darlene Rodgers (Jeff), and Robert McFrederick (Michelle); 23 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Sue Cleckner and Janice Campbell (John).  A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor George Goggin officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
