Rev. Irvin 'Paul' Brown, Jr.

GERMANTON The Rev. Irvin ""Paul"" Brown, Jr. passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born October 15, 1945 in Chatham County, GA to the late Bessie Helen Baum Brown and Irvin Paul Brown, Sr. Rev. Brown proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He graduated from Atlantic Christian College on July 13, 1981 and was ordained on October 25, 1981. Rev. Brown was a member of Germanton Baptist Church and was the former pastor of Rosebud Christian Church in Walnut Cove, NC and of Timothy Christian Church in Ayden, NC. He was a member of the American Legion Post 290 in King and was a retired member of the Walnut Cove Fire Department. Rev. Brown is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Beth Brown; his beloved son, Richard Brown and wife, Sandra; two loving grandchildren, Richard Brown Jr. and Caitlyn Brown; two sisters, Suzanne Creech (KC) and Helen Elizabeth Brown Payne (David); four sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law; and also numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Germanton Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Stephens, the Rev. Justin Jones and the Rev. Philip Crouse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 290 of King. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 2 at the church.
