Mr. Reuben Eugene Lunsford, 84, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at his home. He was born January 24, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Trudie Willard Lunsford and Troy Wesley Lunsford. Reuben proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He retired from R.J. Reynolds and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid bowler and an excellent woodworker. Reuben was a shining example of a hardworking, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was blessed beyond measure by his generosity. In addition to his parents, Reuben was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Pearl Jones Lunsford on August 1, 2015 and his brother, Clarence Lunsford. He is survived by four children: David E. Lunsford (Sharon), Wanda L. Shultz (Kevin), Robert W. Lunsford, and Roger W. Lunsford; eight grandchildren: Mitchell, Nathan, Penny, Oceanus, Taylor, Justin, Amber, and Samantha; six great-grandchildren: Seth, Stephanie, Ashelynn, Austin, John Michael, and Cassandra; two great-great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Mckinlee; one sister, Naomi Crews; and numerous extended family and friends. To honor Reuben's wishes, there will be no formal services held. His body will be laid to rest at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. (Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel)
