ReElla Bodenheimer Johnson ,93, of Clemmons went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Thursday, March 19, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Johnson was born in Forsyth County December 15, 1921 to Earnest Edward Bodenheimer and Jettie May Sloan Bodenheimer. ‘Ree' was married for 62 years to her beloved husband Worth Monroe Johnson who preceded her in death. She and Worth were very involved with the local chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War and the Rose Society. Always one to give to others, she participated in the Cardiovascular Health Study for over 25 years. At the age of 62 she went back to school to earn her CNA certificate. Ree was a dedicated Christian who spent her entire life helping and giving to others. She is best known as an avid gardener, excellent cook, and for her wonderful sense of humor. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and is survived by one son, Tony and wife Jane Johnson of Clemmons; a grandson Brian and wife Yvonne Johnson of Clemmons; a granddaughter, Kelli and husband John Isenhour of Salisbury; and two great- grandsons, Jared and Luke Johnson of Clemmons. Ree also had many close relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. The family will receive visitors at 1:30pm preceding a 3:00pm service by pastors Joey Spry and Jason Whitaker. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 23rd, at 3:00pm at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. Memorials may be made to the Children's Home Society or a charity of your choice.
