Rebecca B. Plyler

Rebecca B. Plyler passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born in Winston-Salem on August 13, 1943. Becky graduated from Griffith High School with the class of ’61. On June 16, 1962, she married Bill Plyler, her childhood sweetheart. She loved all her “peeps” at Shady Grove Elementary. Becky was a cherished wife, Mom, Grammy, and Great Gram. In addition to her loving husband, William Patrick Plyler, Becky is survived by a daughter, Angelia P. Wood (son-in-love, Danny J. Wood); grandson, Daniel Patrick Wood (Katelyn); great granddaughter, Isla; sister, Brenda Devlin of San Antonio, TX; niece, Lisa Heft of Houston, TX; and cherished friends, Cinda Smith, and Sandy Burgess. A graveside service will be held at 4:30 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Salem Moravian Graveyard with Rev. Sandy Jarvis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
