Ms. Rebecca Mears Daisey, 57, passed away with a brief battle with Breast Cancer on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was born on February 11, 1964, in Richmond, Virginia. While in Richmond, she graduated from St. Gertrude high School in 1982 and went on to earn her BA from High Point University in 1986. At High Point, she was a member of the Volleyball team and Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. After graduation, she went to work for American Express and then ended her career with over 26 years with Proctor and Gamble in Greensboro, NC.
Rebecca is survived by her loving partner and friend, Ms. Jan Rogers; as well as her mother, Mrs. Nancy Thorpe Daisey; twin sister, Ms. Elizabeth Anne Padgett; brother Mr. Everett Thomas Daisey III; niece Mrs. Taylor Elizabeth Manders and husband Mr. Corey Joseph Manders; nephew Mr. Destry Thomas Barnwell and girlfriend Ms. Brianna Hazel Collin; and fur babies, Ellie and Ace. Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Everett Thomas Daisey Jr., paternal grandparents, Mr. Everett Thomas Daisey Sr. and Mrs. Edna Mears Daisey, her maternal grandparents, Mr. John Blount Thorpe Jr. and Mrs. Rebecca Rudy Thorpe. Moreover, Rebecca is preceded in death by her two fur babies, Jazz and Ember.
Rebecca was an amazing and trusting friend to all who knew her. She was kind, good hearted and well respected. She loved her Washington Redskins, Virginia Cavaliers, nature and all animals. While she will be greatly missed by her family, co-workers and friends, she is free from all pain and with her Daddy in heaven.
