Rebecca Ratledge Belton

Winston Salem - Rebecca Ratledge Belton, 83, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 14, 1928 in Davie Co. to the late Jay and Ila Rives Ratledge. Mrs. Belton was a member of Laurel Oaks Christian Church. During her working career she was employed by Western Electric and later Hanes Hosiery. Rebecca played AAU Basketball for Virgil Yow and was an avid Duke Basketball fan. She loved gardening and being with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harrison Belton; and six brothers and one sister. Surviving are her three children, Larry Dean Belton and wife, Brenda of Mocksville, Mitchell William Belton and wife, Sherri of Pinnacle, and Lori Ann Belton of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Lucas William Belton of Charlotte, Timothy Lee Belton of Mocksville, and Matthew Belton of Pinnacle; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Isaac Belton; two sisters, Mary K. Rogers of Mocksville, and Carolyn Bodenheimer of High Point. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
